There is a lack of formal training in health professions and most faculty members enter the teaching profession
directly out of training programs or after clinical practice. New faculty members become frustrated at their lack of preparation for teaching, research or administrative service
skills necessary for success in an academic setting. This program provides the opportunity for individuals to develop the background and skills necessary to be excellent
teachers in their areas of specialty and conduct research to improve and innovate educational programs in health professions education.
