Dr. Bellinger is a Regents Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies.

Mission & Goals

The mission of the Office of Research & Graduate Studies is to provide guidance, and support for development of resources for all faculty members and students at Baylor College of Dentistry to achieve the following goals:

  1. Outstanding residency programs for training dental specialists.
  2. Integrated education programs leading to a Masters of Science and Ph.D. for dental clinician-scientists, and dental hygienists who will be the future leaders in dental hygiene, dental and biomedical education and/or research.
  3. Outstanding programs of basic and clinical research that will expand the knowledge base underlying the etiology, progression, prevention, and treatment of dental and craniofacial disorders.
  4. Administration of all compliance matters related to the responsible conduct of research at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Graduate Studies

Postgraduate dentists who plan to pursue specialty dental practice may participate in advanced training programs leading to a Certificate in all of the recognized clinical specialties. Postgraduate clinical programs include Masters of Science (M.S.) degree in a professionally-oriented graduate program. Graduate education programs also include a Masters of Science (MS) degree for dentists and dental hygienists who plan academic careers.  Baylor College of Dentistry also supports academic graduate education leading to a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences for outstanding dental students, specialty students, and post-graduate students who are interested in academic careers as clinician-scientists. The Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (OADRGS) administers all clinical Certificate and M.S. programs at the Baylor College of Dentistry. The Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences is administered through the OADRGS and is awarded by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Research

Baylor College of Dentistry is committed to developing and maintaining strong programs of basic, translational and clinical research relevant to dental and craniofacial disorders by faculty and students. The OADRGS administers all faculty and student research projects at Baylor College of Dentistry. Intramural funding for research and research compliance matters are administered locally. Extramural funding for research is coordinated by the OADRGS for administration principally by the Texas A&M Research Foundation.
