Endnote X5

EndNote is a software application that stores, organizes, and formats bibliographic references. This class walks participants through the program's main functions: creating an EndNote Library; importing citations from Medline, Ebsco and WorldCat into EndNote; adding citations to a Word document from EndNote; and generating a bibliography.

PubMed for Experts -- and the Rest of Us!

Learn how to open up the world's premier database of health sciences literature, Medline/PubMed, using MeSH terms, limits, clinical queries, and other expert techniques. Learn how to design a search to find the resources you need and avoid irrelevant material. How-To Manual and other helpful tools provided.

EndNote Web Basics

During this session on EndNote Web, participants will create an EndNote Web account, and learn the basics of building an EndNote Web library. Topics covered in this session will include:
  • Basic EndNote Web functions
  • Importing references from online databases
  • Citing work using your EndNote Web library

DOSS (Dentistry and Oral Sciences Source)

The 1-hour class will cover an overview of Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source (DOSS), a database created by EBSCO for comprehensive dental literature research. The session will include searching strategies for full-text articles and images and also provide information on the related services that the Library offers.

Endnote

  • There are three upcoming training sessions for the new Endnote version X3 on Windows. Classes are held in the Instructional Computer Lab in the library and last for one hour. Affiliated patrons must register for classes by emailing Rosanna Ratliff or calling 214-828-8151. Space is limited, so register early.

    Each class will be about an hour in length and held in the Instructional Computer Lab at the Baylor Health Sciences Library.

Ovid Online Training Free
Ovid offers several online training sessions. These sessions are free but participants are required to pre-register. Click the link below for a list of available session and to register online.

Pubmed
This class provides an introduction to searching the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE database using the PubMed interface.  You will learn how to formulate and execute a MEDLINE search; limit, print, and save selected citations; and become familiar with the Single Citation Matcher and My NCBI.

Pubmed Continuing Medical Education Free
The South Central Regional office of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine offers free, in-person Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) training sessions for health professionals.
