Presentations: Dr. Jason Griggs gave an oral presentation at the 28^th Annual Conference on Composites, Advanced Ceramics, Materials, and Structures in Cocoa Beach, Fla., Jan. 25-30. The abstract's title is "Novel Method for Determining the Confidence Intervals of Weibull Parameters." Dr. Yun Long Zhang is the co-author.

Dr. Ikuya Watanabe gave an invited lecture to students in the International Program in Prosthodontics at New York University in New York City on Dec. 8. He presented "Research and Clinical Aspects of Castable Fe-Pt Magnetic Attachments."

Presentations: Dr. Larry L. Bellinger was invited to present "The Effect of Nicotine on Meal Patterns in Male and Female Rats: Beginning to Understand Central Mechanisms" to the psychology department's neuroscience group at the State University of New York at Buffalo on Oct. 6.

Bellinger and Drs. Phillip Kramer and Shannon Kramer made presentations at the Society for Neuroscience's 33^rd annual meeting in New Orleans Nov. 8-14.

• Bellinger presented "Hyperphagia and Attenuation of the Anorexia Induced by an Imbalanced Amino Acid Diet (IMB), but no Change in Body Weight Following Ibotenic Acid Lesions (IBO-L) of the Lateral Hypothalamus (LH) in Rats." Co-authors are J.E. McIntosh and D.W. Gietzen.
• P. Kramer presented "Intraperitoneal Nicotine Administration Modulates Food Intake in Rats Through Brainstem Adrenergic Pathways." Co-authors are G. Guan, S.F. Kramer, P.J. Wellman, B.S. Wong and L.L. Bellinger.

Dr. Lynne Opperman was an invited speaker at the Gordon Conference on Craniofacial Morphogenesis and Tissue Regeneration in Los Angeles Jan. 18-23. She presented "Tissue Interactions, Tgf-ßs and Craniofacial Sutures."
