Baylor College of Dentistry's nationally syndicated television oral health news report, "Dental Health Check," airs locally each Monday during WFAA-TV's 6 a.m. and noon newscasts. In addition, "Dental
Health Check" segments are now rebroadcast several times a day on the Texas Cable News Network.

(BCD), the report's recent topics include:
- "Child Tooth Decay" featuring Dr. Linda Steele (BCD '92). Dentists see a new trend among American children – a different pattern of tooth decay.
- "Chocolate and Health" featuring Lisa Harper. Is chocolate candy bad or good for your health? Researchers continue to study the cocoa bean and come up with some surprising information.
- "Crown in a Day" featuring Dr. Janet Gonzalez
(BCD '91). Dental decay can require more than a filling; some large cavities require a crown. New technology significantly shortens the time spent in a dental chair.
- "Laser Research" featuring Dr. Shannon Kramer (BCD). For years, lasers have been used in many medical procedures. Now they are being used in high-tech research labs to study oral diseases.
- "Orthodontic Implant" featuring Dr. Terry Adams
(BCD '78) and Dr. Tom Wilson. Orthodontists are using the newest dental implants to move teeth. The new procedure can replace the embarrassing headgear that many kids and teenagers must wear.
- "Smile Shapes" featuring Dr. David Hildebrand (BCD '69). Most dental procedures improve your oral health. However, more patients choose cosmetic changes just to enhance their appearance.
- "Super Clean Mouth" featuring Hildebrand. According to Vogue magazine, Americans have a new health obsession – a super-clean mouth.
- "Thumb Sucking" featuring Steele. Pediatricians and pediatric dentists suggest children stop the habit of thumb sucking by at least age 5. How can parents help their child stop?

- Dr. William Long (BCD '45) was featured in "Baylor Honors Longs." The article appeared in the Feb. 8 edition of Temple Telegram in Temple, Texas.
- Dr. Ray Page (BCD '86) was featured in "Healthcare Heroes." The article appeared in the Feb. 20 issue of the Business Press in Fort Worth, Texas.
